Postcards from Thailand

Being so much closer to Thailand in Australia than i was in the UK, i made sure i used this as chance to explore the wonders this country holds. I decided to do an organised tour as there a small amount of unrest at that time and i didn’t feel comfortable travelling as a solo woman. I joined a group called ThaIntro which is run through the Nomads hostel chain and they organised the whole first week – accommodation, food, trips and travel. I stayed on a bit longer to add some relaxation time to my trip. This got changed when the hostel offered me a chance to do my PADI open water diving course and helped re-arrange some of my activities so i could complete it in time.

Bangkok

I spent about a week in Bangkok exploring the sights before heading down to the national park.

Koa Suk – National park

Here we arrived straight off a night train got a boat out into the national park and stayed on floating bungalows for a night.

Koh Pangnan

We headed across on the ferry to Koh Pangnan where i spent a week first in a nice hotel then i swapped into a hostel.

Half moon Party

Scuba Diving at Sail rock

I loved learning to dive and have enjoyed the opportunities it has opened up for me while travelling.  These were mostly pictures my Instructor took as i didn’t have access to an underwater camera.
